The Bryn Mawr gift store, Honeyshine, likes to do things a little differently. When you walk into the shop, you are greeted by the store’s mascot, a dapper mannequin with a goat’s head, lovingly named Bruce. What really makes Honeyshine stand out is the unique and funky merchandise that owners Adam Braun and Daisy Mitchell have sourced from all over the world. If you love their fun design aesthetic, then they can also help you whip your home into shape with their design services. Read on to see more photos from the store and see their design work! Braun and Mitchell opened Honeyshine in September of 2011 after working together in the non-profit world. Honeyshine sells gifts and accessories, sourcing vendors from across the world by looking for the right partners on the popular social e-commerce site, Etsy. Their goal is to bring a different selection of merchandise than what you might see in other gift shops.
Eventually they expanded to include design services for those who loved the store’s aesthetic. Their design process starts off with an initial 60 minute design consultation. Depending on what you need help with, Mitchell and Braun will ensure that you get the room you are looking for. As a guy/gal team, they work together to find the common thread so the rooms are never overly masculine or feminine. They shop for furniture pieces both in the store as well as outside the store.
Next time you are in Bryn Mawr, or you want a fun gift or a room makeover, stop by Honeyshine!
