Meet Kay. She is a formed mono wood shell upholstered in recycled vinyl billboard over high-density foam, lightweight tubular stainless steel frame. She is also one of the latest creations from the innovative mind of George Mahoney of SOLV Studio.

George Mahoney’s comes from a background in Graphic Design, from the University of Minnesota and a Masters of Fine Arts in Furniture Design from MCAD, where he also teaches. The main inspiration for his furniture designs comes from architecture and design from the modern, minimal and organic schools of art. By using new and different materials in his designs, he reinforces the physical and visual presence of each work. The varying material influences the function and the overall aesthetic of the piece. George’s goal is to create a unique, site specific piece of furniture that will be used, lived with, and create a better design environment.
