I just read an article in the Star Tribune that is forecasting black as the next big “it” color. I definitely think that black exudes a sense of luxury and sophistication. The color definitely makes a statement when used in the right amounts, but one has to be careful in how he or she uses this palette.
For example, in the photo above, the predominant color is white with black shutters and black Barcelona chairs. This color scheme works because there are so many light elements composed in the room. If one gets too much black in a space, it can start to look like the home of Bill the vampire on True Blood. Also, if one has a lot of light pouring into the space, then the black paint can balance the sunlight. Black has never really left as a chic statement color and it is definitely here to stay.
